Elizabeth Ministry:
Elizabeth Ministry is a ministry of women reaching out to women relating to the child-bearing issues of pregnancy, adoption, infertility and infant loss. Elizabeth Ministers provide support to women through visits, calls, letters and prayers. Ministers are matched with women who have like experiences. Elizabeth Ministry is not only for those that are having difficulties, it can be a prayerful support for those who don't have family in the area while going through a special time in their lives. Where appropriate, the parish provides a gift bag filled with spiritual and hand-made items. Elizabeth Ministry has expanded to other ways of helping women by: sponsoring an infertility support group, providing a Baptism Bundle at Baptism Preparation classes, starting the Rosebud Program as a visible sign for all of the parish to be aware of those who need prayers for child-bearing situations, hosting prayer services for those that have lost a child, and sponsoring a Grandparent support group. At St. Edna, Elizabeth Ministry has been active since 1998 and currently there are about 20 ministers. Call 847-398-3362
